How does this work?

Guests will approach the table where I am stationed and strike a pose. I ask them to stand for just a minute while I sketch their pose in pencil and then allow them to sit down across the table while I finish out the rest of their painting using watercolor to paint into my outlines and capture their likeness. While chatting they can watch their portrait come to life! Most people have never been painted before and find the process absolutely captivating. After 5-15 mins lit is complete and guests can take it home then or leave it on the table a few minutes to dry and pick it up on their way home for the night.

About the Artist

My name is Roxolana and I've lived in Austin for the last 10 years. In that time I've graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UT which is about the time I first got into drawing at events. Since then I have done caricature, painted murals, drawn on ornaments and a plethora of other things but now feel like one of my most unique offerings is these little watercolor portraits. Most people have never been painted before, so while I may spend less than 15 minutes with someone to make them, it becomes a very unique memory and a truly original piece to take home.

The Small Details

I believe what makes my artwork special is the way that I try to get the small things just right. Capturing a guest's skin tone, hair texture and glamourous outfit makes the artwork unique and special. They don't just go home with a little trinket to put on their desk, they get excited about framing these, turning them into Christmas cards or even gifting them to loved ones. It's a party memento that will impress any age group and keep them talking for days.
